As of summer 2026, Melike is based at the METU Informatics Institute in Ankara, Türkiye. Part of the group continues at the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) in Jena, Germany, now as the Dönertaş Associated Group.
Nothing changes about the science. We still work on the computational systems biology of ageing, across the same focus areas. Ongoing projects still continue, and our FLI collaborations continue as before.
What does change is that we now work across two sites. We spend more time on Zoom and Zulip as group meetings and one-to-one meetings mostly run remotely. This also comes with opportunities, as we are becoming more and more proficient in remote work conditions.
We are looking forward to continuing our exciting work and developing many more projects and collaborations!
