We just wrapped up a fantastic three-day FLI retreat in the beautiful surroundings of the Thuringian Forest at Luisenthal.
The retreat’s opening session featured presentations from several groups. Melike presented our group’s concept and the questions that tie our projects together, followed by a talk from Ismail introducing the resources we have been generating to study the role of alternative splicing in killifish ageing — a short-lived model organism popular across the ageing field.

In previous years, the work we presented at the retreat centred on our Measuring Aging Across Scales theme. This year we put the spotlight on two of our other research directions. Ulaş and Tayyaba presented posters on Microbiome & Aging, while Prasoon and Jing presented posters on Stochasticity & Regulation in Aging.

Over three days packed with talks, poster sessions, networking, and social activities — including a treasure hunt and a memorable party — we had plenty of chances to share science and spend time with our FLI colleagues.
A big thank you to the FLI for organising such an engaging and scientifically stimulating retreat!
